In the past when doing Host upgrades using the Update Manager tool, I never disconnected my iSCSI or SAS SANs from the Host before the actual upgrade, done this countless times and everything worked fine during the Host upgrade process. Is disconnecting the SAN now something that is required with 5.5 upgrades? I read the 5.5 upgrade document and it said "If a SAN is connected to the host, detach the fibre before continuing with the upgrade or migration.Do not disable HBA cards in the BIOS."
Yet it says nothing about iSCSI or SAS SANs. Seems odd...
Are people actually disconnecting the SAN before the upgrade process or not bothering...
