I am sure this was answered before but I'll ask anyway. Better safe than sorry.

I am currently running:

VMware vSphere 6 Essentials Kit

VS6-ESSL-SUB-C

VS6-ESSL-KIT-C
vCenter Appliance 6.0 U2

ESXi 6.0 (HP custom image)

ON:

HP DL360p Gen8 G8 v2 2x 2.60GHz 8C E5-2670 112GB Memory,

P420i 1GB, 2.5" HDD 10 BAYS (up to 14TB of local storage RAID5)

HP 1.8TB 12G SAS 10k 2.5" 512e Hard Drives

I am UPGRADING TO:

vCenter Server Appliance 6.5U1d

ESXi 6.5 (HP custom image)

VMware-ESXi-6.5.0-OS-Release-4564106-HPE-650.9.6.0.28-Nov2016.iso (HP custom image not sure which update?)

VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0.update01-5969303.x86_64.iso (will not be used)

VMware-VCSA-all-6.5.0-7312210.iso

QUESTIONS: (assuming everything is backed up)

1 Which should I upgrade first ESXi or vCenter?

2 What info I need to know for vCenter upgrade? What passwords?

3 Are there any known issues with HP custom image listed above?

4 Please provide the best practice scenario.

5 Any links to video are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
