Current vSphere 5.5U3 environment. I would like to upgrade the infrastructure to 6.0U1 which will include a decommission of a vCenter 5.5 server running on Dell hardware and virtualizing a vCenter6 server in it's place. I am not sure where to begin.
- Spin up a Windows 2012 R2 VM
- Install vCenter Server 6 and configure
- <<Lost here>> Do I need to re-create Datacenters, Clusters on the vCenter 6 server then place 5.5U3 hosts in Maintenance mode, then add them into the newly created Datacenters, Clusters on the vCenter 6 server?
- If above true, then use Update Manager to upgrade the hosts from 5.5U3 to 6.0U1?
